We’ve been hinting at a 60s revival for a while now. We even suggest you start picking up some vintage pieces (if you don't have them yet). The 70s have had their fling on the dance floor and come 2012 will be stepping softly aside, not to completely go away or experience a backlash (the two eras are too close together for that) but to allow the decade’s predecessor, the swinging 60s, some time in the limelight. As a trend some designers have whispered its return; others – influencers like Miuccia Prada and Christopher Bailey – have propelled it.
For Vogue Japan’s September issue Giovanna Battaglia styles Karlie Kloss as that iconic ’60s girl. She wears bright, block colours, swing coats and crisp, flat shoes. Accessories are a must, and bold prints are her friend. Ushering in a revival of the decade that was, and doing it in true style, In Love with the City was photographed by Arthur Elgort.
