Angelina Jolie is indeed the new face of Louis Vuitton. The actress has spoken for the first time about shooting her Louis Vuitton Core Values campaign in Cambodia. The actress is barefoot and without makeup, in a wild natural landscape, with a Louis Vuitton bag. It is estimated that Jolie has received for this contract $10 million. It is her first picture in the campaign, and knowing the actress’s nonconformist personality, it is a campaign far from the glamour.
Angelina Jolie appears in the photo wearing her own clothes and her own bag Louis Vuitton. The images were taken in Cambodia. On the plateau were also present the actress’s children. Her son Maddox was adopted from Cambodia. Angelina and Brad Pitt founded Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, an organization supporting local community development and environmental conservation. The image released yesterday is the first in the advertising campaign.
In an interview for the brand, filmed in a wooden shack on location for the shoot, Jolie recalls her first visit to Cambodia and why it became a life-changing experience.
"I first came to Cambodia about ten years ago for a film and we were the first film back since the war, so we didn't know quite know what it was going to be like, or what the people were going to be like, and it was the first time I became aware of landmines," Jolie says. "I remember standing in the waterfall during one of our shots and they said 'just stay on this side of the waterfall because that side of the waterfall still hasn't been de-mined'. And I thought, as somebody from America, what does that mean, hasn't been de-mined? It's just the craziest, it doesn't cross our mind that all these children, and people walking around these areas, have landmines in the ground and that's just a part of their daily life."
The campaign's tagline simply reads: "A single journey can change the course of a life. Cambodia, May 2011." Jolie's fees for this campaign are being donated to charity.Jolie and long-term partner Brad Pitt were in the tabloids again this morning as rumours emerged that they are set to marry later this year.
